About
Us:
Bedford Recycling Inc. (BRI) is a locally owned
small business founded in 1985 located in
Bedford, Indiana,
adjacent to NAVSURFWARCENDIV-CRANE
(Crane military base). BRI is a Small Business Administration certified HUBZone
(historically underutilized business zone), ISO 9001:2000 qualified business. We
are open to the public and will buy all types of metals, though we do have some
restrictions regarding certain materials. If you have any questions please call
ahead. Our main focus has been recycling all types of military scrap and demilitarizing
live munitions from various sites in a joint venture we have with Demil Metals and
Gradient Technologies. In the last twenty
years BRI has successfully
processed over 200,000 tons of military materials without incident.
A
major concentration of BRI
has been the demilitarization of
sensitive military equipment and
ordnance. Under surveillance
of military personnel, BRI has demilitarized
and recycled various aircraft,
including the F-4B Phantom, the
AV-8B Harrier, the B-2 Spirit
(stealth bomber), various
helicopters, and other miscellaneous aircraft
and parts. BRI has
also demilitarized over 1600 combat tanks, including
various levels of the M48 and M60A3
Series tanks. In addition,
BRI has handled projectiles
ranging in size from 76mm
up to the 2700-lb 16-inch/50-cal naval projectiles.
BRI
possesses the required mobile
equipment and personnel necessary
to service remote
field sites.
At its home location, the company
operates machinery and equipment
ranging from a heavy torching
operation and large mobile shears
on excavators, to a 1200-hp heavy metal shredder, which is
capable of handling twenty tons of
scrap material per hour.
Twenty
years of experience in handling
military munitions and combat vehicle
equipment has allowed BRI to gain the
expertise necessary to
successfully complete almost
any
project on or off site. |
